Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinet Step by Step Manufacturing Process

At Musen Wood, we use Italy imported paint machines, Cefla auto-spray equipment, and German imported HOMAG machinery. We strictly follow international cabinetry manufacturing standards, using CARB Phase 2 / EPA TSCA Title VI certified plywood and FSC certified timbers.

Phase 1

Step 1, Prepare Raw Material

After we receive your purchase order, our engineering team breaks down the specifications to generate the detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) including door stiles, rails, center panels, face frames, and carcass dimensions.

We source kiln-dried AB-grade birch and maple lumber, planed and surfaced on 4 sides (S4S) to precise millimeter tolerances.

Phase 2

Step 2, UV Plywood Carcass

We purchase CARB Phase 2 certified birch plywood in 4'×8' sheets, then apply multi-layer UV primer and UV cured clear topcoats. The resulting UV finish is ultra-hard, scratch-resistant, and water-repellent.

  • Side panels: 1/2" birch veneer core plywood
  • Shelves: 3/4" heavy-duty full-depth plywood
  • Back panel: 5mm or 1/2" captive plywood
Phase 3

Step 3, UV Solid Wood Drawer Box

For framed and European cabinetry, our standard drawer box features 5/8" thick solid birch, rubberwood, or poplar with clear UV topcoat.

Phase 4

Step 4, Assemble Doors / Drawer Fronts / Face Frame

For painted doors with MDF center panels, we pre-seal the panel edges before assembly to eliminate unpainted wood exposure during seasonal expansion.

Stiles, rails, and center panels are glued and clamped under high-frequency hydraulic machines to ensure 100% square 90° joints.

Phase 5

Step 5, Sanding Doors / Drawer Fronts / Face Frame

After assembly, excess glue is removed. Each piece passes through wide-belt calibrating sanders and fine orbital sanding units.

Our craftspeople hand-touch every surface, edge, and corner to ensure zero burrs before primer application.

Phase 6

Step 6, Full Inspection for Each Kitchen Cabinet Door

After sanding, every single door is inspected by QC technicians wearing high-lumen headlamps to detect any microscopic pinholes, scratches, or dents.

This rigorous tactile check guarantees a flawless, silky finish post-painting and minimizes customer quality claims.

Phase 7

Step 7, Painting Doors / Drawer Fronts / Face Frame

Components enter our enclosed Italian Cefla automated spraying system equipped with 8 robotic reciprocating spray guns.

We apply 3 coats of polyurethane primer with intermediate sanding, followed by 2 baked topcoats under constant positive air pressure.

Phase 8

Step 8, Assemble Each Type of Cabinet before Package

Before mass production and packaging, our engineers build sample cabinets for each SKU to verify height, width, depth, and diagonal squareness.

We maintain strict digital dimension logs for every production batch to ensure 100% field installation accuracy.

Phase 9

Step 9, Package

We offer both RTA (ready-to-assemble flat-pack) and fully assembled packaging options tailored to your logistics requirements.

Every box includes high-density EPE foam corner protectors, shrink wrapping, and heavy-duty 5-ply corrugated export cartons for safe container ocean transit.
